Jane Adams was one of the most notable figures during the 19th and 20th century. She was in the frontline of the settlement movement and she also became a face of the women’s suffrage movement. Her contributions in the world peace movement made her the first American woman to receive Nobel Prize (Michals, 2017). Jane Adams was one of the few women at that time who were able to go to the college and complete her education.
